Crossed The Tiber

An Evangelical Converts to Catholicism

My Photo
Name:
Location: Pennsylvania, United States

I was born into the Catholic faith. At 14, I was "born again" and found Jesus personally but lost His Church. After thirty years as an evangelical protestant, I have come full circle to find that He has been there all the time, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I wish others to find the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith as I have found.

Jack Chick, Pioneer of "Comic Book Anti-Catholicism" Dead.

May God rest the soul of the mis-guided and sadly deceived Jack T. Chick. I blame him to some degree for my leaving the Catholic faith as a young impressionable and poorly taught Catholic. The little black and white poorly drawn comic tracts spewed every conceivable falsehood and lie about the Church that had been spoken since the reformation. Catholics were portrayed as ignorant fearful idolaters and priests as poorly shaven drunks with "smell lines" over their heads and God had no face! They mocked the blessed Mother as well as The Blessed Sacrament, which is truly Jesus in the appearances of bread. Who can forget the lovely tract, "The Death Cookie?" or "This was your life" portraying Catholics as groveling spineless souls sucked into their own lusts and idols? At any rate, by the grace of God, I discovered what the Catholic Church is truly all about, not what Mr. Chick thought it represented. Perhaps Jack is now discovering what real Christianity is all about as the individuals in my own creation:  CathoChick Tract

Let's all pray for the repose of his soul.  I will pray for him at adoration tonight.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,

and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.

Amen.
