By his incarnation the Son of God has united himself in some fashion with every human being. This saving event reveals to humanity not only the boundless love of God who "so loved the world that he gave his only Son" (Jn 3:16), but also the incomparable value of every human person.

ReplyDeleteAlthough, to be honest, at first it sounded like something I had written a week or so ago:
"Christ's universal kingship has two implications: 1) his kingdom is open to all, and 2) all people are subject to him. ... Thus, each person is connected to Jesus Christ, whether through his Church or not, and this because through the Gospel we are taught that in ministering to any person in their need, we are in fact ministering to Christ."
