Crossed The Tiber

An Evangelical Converts to Catholicism

My Photo
Name:
Location: Pennsylvania, United States

I was born into the Catholic faith. At 14, I was "born again" and found Jesus personally but lost His Church. After thirty years as an evangelical protestant, I have come full circle to find that He has been there all the time, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I wish others to find the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith as I have found.

Pray for Pope Benedict

The pope fell and broke his wrist. Say a prayer for him today.

And this for a man who expected to spend his holidays writing and playing the piano. That must hurt. I'm sure he's offering it up as we speak.

What I'm not looking forward to is the inevitable MSM death watch like in the latter years of JPII's life. Every time the Holy Father sneezed, the press were predicting the next conclave.

well, I think it's interesting that despite how much the world thinks the Catholic Church is passe,(outdated and no longer relevant) the media can't resist reporting about it.
I always wonder why some of our separated brethren don't get the sense that there is something about this 2000 year old institution that even the secular media understands.
Why report on a marginalized false cult? Who should care? Yet, the pope sneezes and there they are. Kinda cool I think.

I was thnking that too. Even here - far away little Aotearoa New Zealand - he hits the headlines and everyone gets very excited. Amazing! By the way, the biggest growth church in this neck of the woods - Catholic.
I too am a convert. In 1988 I was in Rome, (just before entering an Anglican monastery), when I had a chance meeting with Pope John Paul II. Clearly his blessing had some effect.
Am loving your blog Tiber Jumber.
God speed.
