Crossed The Tiber

An Evangelical Converts to Catholicism

My Photo
Name:
Location: Pennsylvania, United States

I was born into the Catholic faith. At 14, I was "born again" and found Jesus personally but lost His Church. After thirty years as an evangelical protestant, I have come full circle to find that He has been there all the time, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I wish others to find the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith as I have found.

Pope Makes Forbe's List of Top 10 Most Powerful People

It is both interesting and ironic that the world views the pope as one of the top 10 most powerful people. Yet the majority of protestants would argue that the pope has no power whatsoever.(unless of course you  believe that the pope is the anti-Christ and has access to a super computer in the Vatican that has the names of all the protestants in it)

Truly, the only power given to the pope is a power that is not of this world and can't be measured or explained in popular media. The only true power the pope has is the "power of the keys" and what is given to him from Christ.
See this excellent article by Dr. Jeff Mirus on the authority of the pope.
