Satan's Perspective onThe Eucharist
If the Eucharist truly is as Jesus said it is, His body and blood, under the appearances of bread and wine,
what would Satan's perspective on this be?
Silly question? I don't think so. The devil will do anything he can to keep us away from God. His sole purpose and reason to exist is to thwart the purposes of Almighty God.
Catholics believe that Jesus continues to come to us in mass as His true body and blood appearing as wine and bread in keeping with the scriptures and in continuity with the beliefs of ancient Christianity. We believe that we are given much grace by receiving Christ in this sacramental manner. Not only do we consume God, but if our hearts are open to Him, he envelopes us and pours himself into us and ultimately makes us more like Him. Saints for 2000 years have pointed to the Eucharist as the source and summit of their faith. As a matter of fact, there can be no closer place on this earth to Christ than in receiving Holy Communion.
So, given that reality, we see why Satan will do anything in his power to keep Christian people away from belief in the Eucharist and Catholic Christians from experiencing His grace in the reception of the Eucharist. If one can have one's life transformed by the Eucharist, Satan will fight tooth and nail to dissuade people from understanding and believing in the real presence. The Holy Eucharist is Jesus and thus Satan wishes to prevent more people from experiencing Him.

Sr. Edward Sri says in A Biblical Walk Through the Mass:
"It is no wonder that the Catholic Church has seen holy
communion as the climax of Eucharistic worship. As the Catechism
explains, "The celebration of the Eucharistic sacrifice is wholly
directed toward the intimate union of the faithful with Christ
through communion. To receive communion is to receive Christ
himself who has offered himself for us." Indeed, holy communion is
the most profound union we can have with God this side of eternity.
God comes to us sacramentally on our altars at Mass and remains
present to us outside of Mass in the tabernacle. This alone is quite
awe-inspiring! But God's desire to unite himself to us goes even
further. In holy communion, Our Lord enters our bodies, joining
himself to our souls in this most intimate union."
As Dr. Francis Beckwith has asked, and I love to repeat, "Why wouldn't you want the Eucharist to be the real body and blood of Christ?" Behind all the theological parsing of words and polemics, the reality remains that there is one who roams about the earth looking to kill and destroy our souls and keep us from heaven. Satan hates the Eucharist and will do anything imaginable to keep souls from experiencing the life-changing effects of docile hearts receiving Christ's body, blood, soul and divinity.
If the Eucharist is truly the body and blood of Christ, it is the object of Satan's fury.
