Crossed The Tiber

An Evangelical Converts to Catholicism

My Photo
Name:
Location: Pennsylvania, United States

I was born into the Catholic faith. At 14, I was "born again" and found Jesus personally but lost His Church. After thirty years as an evangelical protestant, I have come full circle to find that He has been there all the time, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I wish others to find the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith as I have found.

Pro-lifers Unfortunately Advocate Abortifacient Medications

The pro-life movement needs to be pro life for all life, even itty-bitty clumps of cells that are easily aborted by the use of oral contraceptives even before the mother is aware she was pregnant. To be pro-life means to embrace life from the beginning of life to the natural end of life. The oral contraceptive has been shown to cause abortion by a number of different mechanisms but mostly by providing a hostile environment in the uterus for the fertilized ovum (read little human).
Despite this reality of science, many non-Catholic Christian crisis pregnancy centers which attempt to prevent abortion by providing free ultrasounds and housing through the pregnancy still advocate oral contraception which is aborting tiny little humans!
My wife who had helped set up a local crisis pregnancy center was forced to resign from her voluntary employ because of their non-stance and lackadaisical response to her query regarding their position on oral contraception.

"In all reality, the passage of time has yielded undeniable scientific facts that reveal that babies conceived by women of all faiths are being aborted through the use of hormonal contraceptives. If we fight only one type of abortion injustice while ignoring the more extensive killing influence, we diminish both our righteous cause and our effect on the most innocent members of our society."

You're not pro-life if you're pro-contraception. It's as simple as that.
