Palm Sunday Begins The Home Stretch
This is the start of Holy Week and there will be much grace and prayers flowing for the new catechumens as they forge the Tiber at Easter Vigil Mass. Many bloggers are linking to folks who are coming into the Church and it has been interesting to follow them on their journey this past year. My brother-in-law, my late wife's brother, will be taken in next week as well. My in-laws are staunch Lutheran Christians but I believe they will be supporting their son in his decision.
GFF posted a link to this "cradle Baptist"-turned Lutheran who will be coming in next Saturday.
Check out his blog, he has a well written description of his journey. It's been three years since I reverted to the Church but I still get encouraged by reading these stories of conversion.
Lord Jesus, We ask for your grace and peace to be poured out on these converts as they come home to the Church this week. Protect them, encourage them and rebuke the enemy that would seek to frustrate this journey.
Mary, as you continue to lead men to your Son, we ask for your intercession for the new converts that they will "do whatever He tells them to do."
St. Augustine, We ask that you intercede for the catechumens as you understood this journey more than most. We ask that you could pray for grace for all those who are making this same journey.
St Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
Hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
