Crossed The Tiber

An Evangelical Converts to Catholicism

My Photo
Name:
Location: Pennsylvania, United States

I was born into the Catholic faith. At 14, I was "born again" and found Jesus personally but lost His Church. After thirty years as an evangelical protestant, I have come full circle to find that He has been there all the time, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I wish others to find the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith as I have found.

If I'm not mistaken, I think this is the 10th anniversary season of The Journey Home; if it is it sure is starting off with a bang. Going to be very interesting for sure.

Wish I had known earlier ... I might have started swimming sooner. But the Lord works in His own time.

Love this show--but now I work late every Monday night, and never seem to be able to pick it up on the re-runs.

Hey TJ, who knows? Someday we might see James White or any number of others who currently believe they have a ministry fighting the "error of Rome" sharing their testimony about reconciliation with the fullness of the Gospel.

I do not begrudge anyone the righteous joy that comes with seeing another person come home, nor the understandably human joy that comes from feeling all such moves as a sort of vindication. Of course I don't mean this to be "triumphalistic." We also have joy to hear the testimony of anyone who had not known Christ at all who comes to the way of salvation in Him.

I've been having many conversations with non-Catholic Christians over the past few weeks, and in this process, I'm finding myself ever more grateful for the Church and her 2000 year-old testimony. I am glad for every man woman and child who is baptized into the faith, and I would that we were truly one as Jesus prayed we should be. For those who are in Christ but not in full communion with the Church, I pray for their ever increased blessing in Jesus unto the work they were created to do. For those who do not know the touch of Christ, I pray for their epiphanal event and their turning to answer God's call, in the Church if possible, but also in whatever communion they might find safe harbor from the tempest that is the world.

Thanks again Tiber, for hosting this site and for the witness that you and PD set before me. You guys are a blessing.
