Crossed The Tiber

An Evangelical Converts to Catholicism

My Photo
Name:
Location: Pennsylvania, United States

I was born into the Catholic faith. At 14, I was "born again" and found Jesus personally but lost His Church. After thirty years as an evangelical protestant, I have come full circle to find that He has been there all the time, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I wish others to find the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith as I have found.

More on the School Collapse in Haiti

Since there is no public education in Haiti, the churches, both Protestant and Catholic, have provided the bulk of the education of those who can afford to go. This was a Christian school with the children's parents making incredible sacrifices to enroll their kids there.
How can anyone possibly adhere to the health and wealth gospel in the face of situations like this? These are children of God whose faith in Christ is much stronger than mine.

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Heartbreaking, TJ. Their faith is much more strong than mine, also. I will remember them in my prayers/rosary/Divine Mercy. We are going to find out, through a "purge" of our own, how we've let ingratitude bring us to the point we're at in America, electing a president with a horrific pro-death agenda. Either our knees will bend to the Lord in faith, and abiding joy or they'll bend in fear to the point of begging for death. We've amassed much wealth here, (wealth/health gospel) in both Catholic and Protestant faith communities, and we've become very lukewarm. We'll soon see what "faith" is supposed to mean...for we will be tested! God rest the souls of the little children who died in that horrible collapse, now safely in the arms of their Mother Mary, on the way to the very bosom of Jesus. May God bless their families in this heart wrenching hour. Lord have mercy. Forgive us our sins. May we never take Jesus for granted, or the gift of faith.

thanks Susie for the comment.
Yes we haven't begun to see the testing yet and this economic meltdown could just be the tip of the iceberg.
