Welcome Home!
I found this beautiful comment posted on a new convert's blog. I thought it was a wonderful encouragement. It's from Susie on RECON.
"When you receive our Lord in the Eucharist, when the Bread of Heaven fills your hungry, famished soul, the pain of these losses will not be nearly as great as the pure Joy which will flood your entire being!
As in the Gospel today, we're called to "go deep." There's no religion or institution on earth deeper than the Catholic Church, where our "nets" can be filled to overflowing daily with the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of the Whole Truth. Then He will show us how to spread Truth to others, and be equipped for reception as well as rejection, just as He was while on this earth.
We found that Mother Church had/has always left a light on for us - the flickering candle flame behind red glass, near our Lord's tabernacle. It's always "on" welcoming all of us weary pilgrims, us dusty, dirty prodigals no matter the time, day or night. Isn't She a lovely dwelling place and the most safe refuge?
Your story has brightened and warmed this sub-zero and very cold day we're having in Omaha. Thank you for your honest, Truth-seeking heart.
