Crossed The Tiber

An Evangelical Converts to Catholicism

My Photo
Name:
Location: Pennsylvania, United States

I was born into the Catholic faith. At 14, I was "born again" and found Jesus personally but lost His Church. After thirty years as an evangelical protestant, I have come full circle to find that He has been there all the time, in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I wish others to find the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith as I have found.

Welcome back home TJ...I missed you. Say "hi" to PD. Prayed for you at some Masses and Adoration while you were away. I've loved this song since you sent it to me way back last year.

So much is happening. We're (hubby & me) in a "discernment" process here in Omaha. "Urban Hermits" are springing up in and around the globe. I'm corresponding with one now who's a bit older than me, (if that's possible) and it's intriguing to say the least. She is also a blogger. We're in the process of "detaching" from some things/people and will seek spiritual direction for further understanding. So far, it's been the HS leading the way, and so far so good!

PAX and have a wonderful and truly blessed Holy Week.

I edited my post "Rumours of their Move were Greatly Exaggerated" to link to your new video here. Good job.

Thanks for the link PA. Hopefully the video can stimulate us all to think and pray about our poorest brothers and sisters.

I am interested in this "Urban Hermits" Prod as I had a major "detachment" about 6 yrs ago, sold the house, the practice and probably too many stringed instruments I now wish I kept!

Interestingly, I was listening to Rich Mullins at the time and intrigued by his Kid Bros of St. Francis. That lead me to studying "Voluntary Simplicity" which also dovetailed with our conversion to Catholicism. "Happy are You Poor" By Father Dubay was one of the books I read.

e mail me offline with details on these Hermits and your journey. Thanks

TJ: I didn't know where else to put this. I think Dave Armstrong makes an off-hand and funny reference to criticism your Nicean Blues got from AOMIN. http://socrates58.blogspot.com/2008/03/vatican-elevates-bishop-james-white-to.html

PS: You don't have to post this if you don't want to, but feel free to delete this PS if you do.

Coming to this quite late but wanted to say thank you for this. Write now I am reading Zlata's Diary and several books similar. There are people who change the world in small and large ways. I haven't done much myself, not really. You have. Thanks.
